IoT-ZERO develops the sensing and connectivity technologies needed to power the next generation of IoT devices on near-zero energy, including battery-less, energy-harvesting nodes. By combining event-driven neuromorphic sensing, asynchronous secure communications, and seamless terrestrial-satellite (TN–NTN) connectivity, IoT-ZERO enables IoT deployments that are self-powered, maintenance-free, and built to last decades.

Funded by the EU's Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under Horizon Europe, the project runs from June 2026 to May 2029 across a consortium of 10 partners from 8 European countries.
